What To Argue About At A Diner

A little local political flavor for you soon-to-be visitors.

There is a pretty serious debate going on right now on the Cape, concerning a large-scale wind farm project that's been proposed off the coast, in Nantucket Sound.

These wind turbines would capitalize on an inexhaustible resource that any Cape visitor has surely experienced: insane, constant, whipping winds directly off the coast. The wind farm would bring hundreds of much-needed jobs to the area, provide up to 75% of the energy needed by the Cape and islands and help to end the Cape's reliance on nearby coal plants. However, it will also plunk 130 wind turbines taller than the Statue of Liberty down next to two of the east coast's most affluent vacation islands, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. They'd be several miles out in the Sound but within view from some locations. There's pretty comprehensive article about it today, here on CNN.com.

I really apologize for shilling for my new company. Let me say that. To counteract, I'll shill for Sean's! And you get to watch us be ridiculous!
